Hi, I’m Dr. Romina, a board-certified pediatrician, adult and children obesity medicine specialist, ketogenic nutrition expert, and certified metabolic health coach. But before all of that, I was a teen and then a woman who followed all the conventional advice and still struggled with my weight and health.

For most of my life, I counted calories, tried to eat in moderation, and stayed active, but I often felt low on energy and hungry. Everything changed after my second pregnancy when complications forced me to restrict my activity, leading to unexpected weight gain. As I approached my 40s while caring for a baby and a toddler, my body stopped responding to my previous efforts. I felt foggy, exhausted, and emotionally drained.

It was during a Harvard Obesity Medicine conference that I was first introduced to low-carb and ketogenic nutrition. I’ll admit—I was skeptical at first. But I’ve always believed that true and lasting health begins with what we eat and how we live. Medications and surgery have their place, but nutrition and lifestyle are the foundation of healing. So, I decided to give it a try. At that point, I had nothing to lose—and everything to gain.

That decision changed everything for me.

With this new way of eating, I experienced increased energy, no post-meal crashes, no cravings, better mental clarity, more stable moods, and deeper sleep—even with a baby waking me during the night. I was able to be more physically active, think clearly, navigate my days with ease and confidence, which helped me work on further lifestyle changes to feel even better.

Since then, I’ve spent nearly a decade deepening my expertise in therapeutic carbohydrate restriction and holistic lifestyle interventions—combining the science of medicine with the art of coaching to guide real, lasting change. Through this work, I help individuals and families reconnect with the truth that health begins from within. When we focus on restoring our metabolic health and nurturing our well-being with intention and self-compassion, we begin a powerful journey of healing, not driven by numbers on a scale, but by how we feel, function, and flourish.
